With our slower, more considered start to the new funding year at Dundee Changemakers Hub, our focus has been on recruitment. We were inundated with applications for our two new roles - Community Engagement Coordinator and Community Communications Coordinator. While that comes with a greater time commitment, it's a great position to be in! We spoke to lots of brilliant individuals and had tough choices but we're delighted to have two energetic people joining the Changemakers team!
Our new Community Engagement Coordinator is Angela Houghton. Some of you may know her. She comes with tons of experience in community and youth development across Scotland, in local and national roles. Angela has spent time at PLANT in Tayport working on a Climate Friendly Gardens project, as well as managing education and employability at Helm Training, and young placechangers development at Greenspace Scotland. She is about a month into her new role with Dundee Changemakers and you'll meet her at our SOUP event on 23 July! Oh, and she's also a Menopause and Women's Wellbeing Yoga Teacher. How lucky are we?

Our second new team member comes from Lantra with lots of energy and knowledge to bring to our Community Communications Coordinator role. Aylish Kelly's role at Dundee Dramatic Society combines all things storytelling and digital communications - an ideal candidate for this job with her passion for climate and social justice. Aylish joins the team at the end of July (we can't wait!) so you'll meet her soon.

The third member of our small but perfectly formed team you may already know. Shona Cherry joined Dundee Changemakers last summer in a Coordinator role and recently moved into a Hub Manager role. Hopefully you already know Shona, but by way of a brief introduction, she has been working in sustainability and net zero roles since 2018 that have worked across private, public and third sector initiatives where project management, strategy development and engagement. If you haven't yet met Shona, you'll find her at our SOUP event too!

We are really excited about this team and our partners - Sandy Greene at Scrapantics, Lynsey Penny at Transition Dundee, Manuela de los Rios at The Maxwell and Danielle du Plooy at Uppertunity - working with you, our amazing Dundee community, to improve the lives of the people of the city through social and climate justice projects and activities.
